June – ‘Pop-Up Raya!’ - Sessions 1 & 2

Today we gave Raya Card an extra ‘ummph’ - a pop-up! The exercise was to generate ideas, showing how a twist of creativity can add spice to Raya Cards.

Before crafting we got our students involved in a small discussion of what images/ motifs represent Hari Raya. Students then chose their theme from those shared on the list.

Learning Outcome: Pop-up card making, understanding motifs, exercise in composition, acting on their creativity and self-expression.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish every one of our ardent supporters - our family, friends, students, parents, online friends and acquaintances of the Muslim faith, a ‘Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir Batin and happy holidays to all others!
Kraftee Bug will be back to show-n-tell after a two-week break!

Today we applied that concept to this week’s theme; ’self-portraits’. Apart from discovering how symmetrical and balanced their face are, the students also discovered the art of portraiture.

Learning Outcome: Understanding of Symmetry, Portraiture, Creativity, Sensory, and Fine motor skills.
