Today we celebrated
the uniqueness of multi-cultural Malaysia by understanding the significant of
‘Oranges’ during Chinese New Year. Orange or “Kam” (in Cantonese) represents
‘good luck’ and it is a customary for families to exchange oranges during family
visits.
The class started with
a briefing on 5 interesting facts on Oranges. Then, using just construction
papers, our Bugs were asked to craft their own oranges. Once completed, they
have to present their artwork to the class. Public speaking exercise is one of
our continuous improvement where we aim to help our students to improve their
self-confidence and to better their communication skills which would help them
to express their creative works better through words.
Learning outcome:
Knowledge on Chinese culture, orange is more than a colour or fruit,
creativity, and an exercise in public speaking.
