Today we helped reinforce our students' creative confidence by asking them to create their dream house! Going round the table, some dreamt of bright coloured houses, rainbow-coloured roofs, huge pools, big fruit trees and one wanted a small hut to house his pet dinosaur! Such exciting ideas!!!

This activity presents a fun and fluid form of creativity which encourages the maiden process of transforming a dream into reality and the pleasure of seeing a three-dimensional structure emerge quickly. So parents, your children definitely have ideas of the home they dream to live in....

February - Happy Monster

Today our Kraftee Bugs explored and engaged with their creative senses by creating their very own Happy Monster! While most can relate well to Monsters, the choice of "Happy" was to put them in a comfort zone of positivity and thinking out of the box.

Next, they presented their creation to the class; sharing details such as the monster's name, likes and dislikes and its physical descriptions.
Besides helping to foster comfort and creativity in drawing, this exercise aimed to give confidence in public speaking.

Learning outcome: Explore creativity, awake the imagination, stir positivity and confidence in drawing, and engage in public speaking

February - Alpha Collage

Class 2017 kicked-off with ‘Alpha-Collage’! Collage has been around for hundreds of years and grandmasters such as Picasso and Braque are well known for this presentation of art.

We chose collage as an ice-breaker as research proved it has been able to overcome nervousness. Applying their personal initials today, our students created their own collage masterpiece. The activity allowed students the freedom to express their creativity, sharpen their sense of composition and exercise patience in art.

Learning outcome: freedom of expression, sense of composition, patience in art
